Eastern Beach named friendliest in Victoria

Geelong’s Eastern Beach is the “friendliest” in Victoria, according to a statewide campaign for keeping outdoor spaces neat and tidy.
The Victorian branch of Keep Australia Beautiful bestowed the title on the Geelong bathing and burn-out hot-spot during an annual Clean Beaches Awards in Melbourne this week.
Branch chairman Max Spedding said Geelong had beaten contenders including Lorne, Ocean Grove and St Kilda to win the Friendly Beach Award.
Mr Spedding heaped praise on City of Greater Geelong for the Eastern Beach award.
