Intruder ‘leaves Highton home with Mercedes before servo drive-off’

An intruder has stolen a luxury car in an aggravated burglary at Highton, according to police.
The alleged suspect entered the Remony Avenue home on Monday before leaving with the dark grey 2015 Mercedes C200, police posted on Facebook.
The vehicle, registration JOC1, was then allegedly used in a petrol drive-off the same day at a BP service station on the Bellarine Hwy at Leopold.
“The suspect is described by the attendant at BP as Caucasian late teens/early twenties. The shoes he was wearing were quite distinct,” police posted.
Security camera images from the station show a man who investigators believed could “assist the investigation”.
Police asked anyone with information to phone Geelong Criminal Investigation Unit Detective Leading Senior Constable Andrew Mond on 5225 3166 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
