Geelong Cricket Club is well placed to finish its season on the perfect note after posting a mammoth 8/337 against Kingston Hawthorn last Saturday.
After winning the toss, all the top order got starts, but at 6/199, the job wasn’t done yet.
However, the middle order stood firm with half centuries to Tyler Larkin (52), Liam Buchanan (79) and Corey Ogle (58), turning a possible collapse into a dominant performance.
All the Cats bowlers will be looking to bag a few wickets tomorrow and finish their season with a deserved victory.
It’s finals time in the Geelong Cricket Association, with some mouth-watering games scheduled in the first week.
The most interesting game will be the between top placed East Belmont and sixth placed St Josephs.
While the Lions have steadily gone about their business all season, a loss to Lara last week could see a few sides thinking there is a chink or two in their impressive armour.
The Joeys, on the other hand, were awful before Christmas causing many to write them off, but some superb form since then has them right back in the mix.
East will look to not only assert their dominance in this one, but also would love to knock out one of their main dangers for the flag.
In the two other games, South Barwon will play local rival Grovedale, while two of the quiet achievers in Lara and Geelong City will battle it out.

In division two, Bell Park pulled off a miracle outright win in their final game of the season against Marshall to sensationally knock Modewarre out of the finals.
In the end they finished one point clear in sixth spot and have earned the right to play Highton which also won outright, ironically against Modewarre.
While Bell Park will be on a high having made the finals, they’ll need to lift at least one if not two more gears if they are to knock off Highton which has been very consistent all year.
The other games will see St Albans Breakwater play fierce rival Thomson while reigning premier Marshall will play St Peters. Both of these games will go down to the wire.

And in division three, top side Shelford will take on probably the side with the most finals experience in the division when it plays Teesdale.
Shelford has answered every challenge so far but Teesdale will know it has nothing to lose and all the pressure will be on the Bullants.
Corio will play Little River, both sides having enjoyed much improved seasons, while Bannockburn and Guild St Marys will take the field in the other game.
Bannockburn has been very good all year while Guild St Marys’ form has been patchy, but it remains a dangerous proposition.
