Geelong has two Commonwealth Games Gold medalists as Madison Robinson and Tegan Caldwell played key roles in the Diamonds win in Glasgow.
The Diamonds defeated New Zealand by 18 goals, getting on top by double figures in the third quarter and determinedly holding the Silver Ferns out.
Madison Robinson told Channel Ten the Commonwealth Games netball gold medal topped off an incredible year.
She won the premiership with the Melbourne Vixens this season and said she would relish the win after the heartbreak of being left out of Australian international teams twice previously.
“It’s amazing to have that gold medal now,” Madison said.
“It’s been an incredible year, this is most definitely at the top of the list now.”
