A CORIO man has lost the keys to his silver Mercedes after a high-speed drive in Norlane this afternoon.
Central State Highway Patrol members were patrolling the area as part of Operation “Road to Zero” when they spotted the 25-year-old “practically flying” on Anakie Road around 2.30pm, police said.
Police put a stop to the man’s dangerous outing, clocking him at 130kmh in a 60kmh zone.
Officers immediately impounded the 2002 Mercedes for 30 days under the hoon legislation.
The driver is expected to be charged on summons with speeding offences.
