Strong wind is keeping emergency crews busy across the Geelong region.
Local SES units have responded to calls for help in an area stretching from St Leonards to Winchelsea, with trees blown down and at least three homes damaged.
A small fire has been contained off Sunderland Road, Wandana Hieghts, as strong wind buffets the region.
The danger has extended to local roads, with VicRoads advising motorists to avoid Shelford Bannockburn Road near Bannockburn Bush Reserve due to reduced visability from dust clouds.
Water authorities have also warned the public to exercise caution along the Surf Coast amid expectations the strong win will produce surf up to seven metres high.
