THE first grant from a $15 million Geelong Industry Fund has gone to a company supplying metal products to domestic and overseas companies, Premier Denis Napthine has announced.
Mr Napthine visited Geelong on Tuesday to announce the $180,000 for IXL Metal Castings.
He called the company “one of Geelong’s many success stories”.
The company would use the cash for a $561,000 project to buy equipment for expansion into the iron castings market, Mr Napthine said.
The fund, part of a wider $15 million package for Geelong’s development, was set up in response to turmoil in the city’s industrial sector.
