Their lucky weekend

A young Bell Park couple and a Geelong woman hit the jackpot over the weekend, winning $463,590 each.
The couple, both in their thirties, had a sleepless night after the win.
“My husband was working a night shift on Saturday,” the wife explained.
“When he got home he looked up the winning numbers … and told me we had all six.
“He wanted to go out and check the ticket right then and there but I said ‘It’s already midnight, don’t go outside or something might happen. It can wait until tomorrow morning’.”
The couple said they would buy a new house with the money.
“It’s so hard to buy a house these days and we want it for our children later on,” the wife explained.
“We’re a bit crazy because we already started house-hunting on Sunday.”
The other Geelong winner didn’t believe Tatts officials when they contacted her this morning to confirm her division one prize.
“I thought it was a scam or joke or something because things like this don’t happen to people like me,” she said.
The woman’s entry was a mix of family birthdates and other numbers.
“I’ve been playing for a hell of a long time, just playing the same numbers over and over again.”
The woman was yet to decide what to do with the money, but said she would likely donate some of it to charities she supported.
“I’ll believe it when I see it in the account. I just need some time to get my head around it.”
The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, purchased her 12-game marked entry from Bellarine Village Lotto.
Store owner Ben Kelberg was thrilled to have sold the winning entry.
“Just two months ago we sold a winning Super 66 ticket and we’ve sold a few division one entries over the years,” he said.
“We hope they enjoy their prize.”
