Nominations are flooding in for this year’s Geelong Business Excellence Awards, according to organisers.
Around 80 more arrived in the days after last week’s official launch, Geelong Chamber of Commerce’s Kelli Finlayson said.
Last week’s Geelong Indy promoted the launch with an eight-page wrap-around feature, including a message of support from Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
Ms Finlayson predicted “the biggest awards ever” in 2017.
“We now have around 200 nominations already, which is fantastic,” Ms Finlayson said.
“There’s a real buzz this year.”
Anyone, including shoppers, suppliers and clients, can nominate businesses at the awards’ website, gbea.com.au.
Nominations for each of the 21 categories close on 31 March, with winners revealed in August.
The Indy is a sponsor of the Geelong Business Awards.
