Disabled agency opens up

SMILING Sandra Dawson is no stranger to the limelight.
The packaging worker recently glammed up to star in a government film to showcase the benefits of disability enterprises. Now she is out to promote Kommercial’s open day this Friday to coincide with International Day of People with Disability.
“I’m just getting used to the camera in my face,” Sandra says as a flashbulb dazzles her eyes.
Kommercial’s North Geelong site, one of several of the Geelong disability employment provider’s operations, packages goods for several companies including parcels from overseas that fail to meet Australian standards.
So when Sandra spots one of her special Christmas packages on the shelves, she’s amazed shoppers are “actually buying our stuff”.
Kommercial’s open day will showcase the work of employees with disabilities while providing an insight into the company’s operations.
The open day will begin 11.30am at Kommercial’s centre in Baxter Street, North Geelong.
