Pair face court over Whittington bomb scare

By PAUL MILLAR

A 44-YEAR-OLD man and a woman, 42, will face Geelong Magistrates Court today charged with drug and firearm offences following a raid on a Whittington property yesterday.
The couple were arrested after a raid on the home, which resulted in the bomb squad arriving after the discovery of alleged explosive devices.
Officers sealed off the immediate area around the Thompson St home while a police robot scanned the scene.
Police said the couple had faced an out of sessions hearing and were remanded overnight to face court today.
Police had been executing a search warrant at the home when they discovered what they believed was explosive devices.
