AUSTRALIA’S largest corporate rowing fundraiser has expanded with the addition of a dragon boat regatta.
TAC will join Geelong welfare support charity Give Where You Live to sponsor the Wipe Off 5 Cup.
TAC head Janet Dore said the organisaion was proud to support the disadvantaged in Geelong where the TAC’s staff worked and lived.
“TAC staff will be participating in the regatta and, while we’ll be rowing our hardest and fastest on the water, we’ll be reminding people to slow down when they get back on the road,” Ms Dore said.
The Alcoa Corporate Head of the River raised $65,000 last year.
Organisers said this year’s target had swelled to $120,000 with the additional events.
Participants could register for the dragon boat regatta as individuals or as crews of 20, the organisers said.
Entries close August 31.
