Here comes Trouble: The Mojo Corner launches its new CD this Friday night with the support of The Midnight Specials and Luke Legs.

GEELONG blues rock outfit The Mojo Corner went to a lot of trouble to ensure its raw live sound survived the recording process.
Harmonica player Rory Millar said the band wanted to make sure the sometimes-sterile environment of the studio failed to take over.
The solution was to record the latest album, Trouble, in one hit to achieve the dynamic of a live performance.
“We wanted it to sound like a live show and to capture the energy,” Millar explained.
“We wanted the album to transport you to the pub while you were listening to it. We didn’t want to put a lot of production into it because we wanted the sound to be who we are.
“What you hear is what you get: an album full of energetic, dirty, filthy rock blues.”
The album will receive its first full airing when The Mojo Corner releases it to coincide with the opening of central Geelong’s Basement 159, formerly Limelight Lounge, this Friday night.
The band’s first album for two years, Trouble features tracks like Lone Rider, Uncle Jack and Killer Munro. The songs are already proving popular on the band’s My Space page.
Rory said the album, recorded at Sing Sing studios in Richmond, was a collection of stories from real life.
The Mojo Corner also features vocalist Dan Lagana, Johnny Hawken on guitar, drummer Mark McLeod and Shaun Hilton on bass.
Millar said Luke Legs and The Midnight Specials would support the CD launch, with doors opening at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost $10 at the door.
