A LOVE for all things involving cars has earned pint-sized Ben Tasevski to a people’s choice art award in a Geelong’s showcase of junior creativity.
The 10-year-old Lara Lake primary student won the leading category in front of 500 people at a Masters in the Making presentation for his painting The Ferrari.
Ben said he painted the car in his Little Picasso art class.
“I love art and mostly enjoy drawing cars and science fiction,” he said.
“I asked my friends at school what I should paint and they said a red Ferrari – so I did.”
With a smile from ear to ear, Ben said he spent six hours on his masterpiece.
“I was really shocked when I found out I won and mum was very proud,” he said.
Ben received a certificate and a $100 art supplies voucher.
He celebrated with a trip to the movies.
The two week Masters in the Making exhibition at art@wintergarden showcased the work of junior artists from around Geelong.
