Coastal committee positions up for grabs

Another foreshore committee could be cleared out with all nine Great Ocean Road Coast Committee positions up for re-election in June.
Nine positions on the interim Bellarine Bayside committee are also up for election after Environment minister Lisa Neville sacked the previous board in February last year.
Ms Neville installed an interim committee for 18 months after growing concerns raised by local communities about the lack of engagement by Bellarine Bayside.
Three positions on the eight-member Barwon Coast Committee of Management are also up for election.
Ms Neville said the committees played an integral role in protecting and enhancing Victoria’s magnificent coastline on behalf of the community.
“The committees of management provide an enriching and rewarding experience for members and I would encourage anyone with a passion for preserving our beautiful coastal areas to nominate for one of these positions.”
Ms Neville said the recruitment process for all committees would occur simultaneously to allow candidates applying for multiple committees to be appointed to the most appropriate position.
