‘Knackered’ Geelong man wakes up a millionaire

A Geelong West man who was too “knackered” to stay up for Monday night’s lottery draw woke up the next morning to discover he won $1 million.
“I haven’t told anyone yet!” the winning man told Tatts.
“These days I hate waiting up late to check the results and I was knackered yesterday, so I went to bed at about 9pm, none-the-wiser I’d won.
“But I had the ticket sitting in front of my computer screen and I turned it on and checked it against the winning numbers early this morning and I thought, ‘No, no! It can’t be!’
“I’m really excited and it hasn’t quite hit me yet.
“I’m on the verge of getting my dream house built, but I was worried about getting myself into more debt. Now I can buy the house and a shed and be care-free!”
Tatts said the man bought his unregistered 12-game marked entry from Woolworths Petrol, on Shannon Avenue, Geelong West.
He was one of two division one winners on Monday night.
