A MAN wearing a clown’s mask had no red nose but was left red-faced after being apprehended shortly after robbing a 7-Eleven store in the city yesterday morning.
The 23-year-old Whittington man allegedly threatened the attendant with a knife at the Sydney Parade, Ryrie Street outlet at 6am.
Police said that he demanded cash and then he stole the attendant’s bag and fled the scene.
Police from the Geelong uniform branch arrested the man at a Geelong address a short time later.
A knife, a clown’s mask and the allegedly stolen bag were recovered in the raid.
Police said that nobody was injured during the incident.
Investigators were interviewing the man and he was expected to be charged with armed robbery.
