TWO teenagers have conquered a 400-kilometre school holiday walk from Drysdale to raise almost $20,000 for cancer research.
A crowd of supporters, family and friends cheered seventeen-year-old Blaise White, of Drysdale, and cousin Zac Dodds, of Hamlyn Heights, as they walked their final 35 kilometres into Tomcumwal, New South Wales, on Wednesday night after 11 days on the road.
Blaise said the walk was a tribute to their grandfather who died from cancer last year.
Blaise’s father, Phil White, was “incredibly proud”.
“He’s always been a very determined kid and when he thought up this idea Zac joined in and they put it all together,” Mr White said.
