Police were yesterday investigating the shooting of a man at Corio on Wednesday night.
A Victoria Police media unit spokesperson said the 28-year-old man arrived at Geelong Hospital’s emergency department about 9.50pm with a gunshot wound to his left knee.
A Barwon Health spokesperson said emergency department staff treated the man before moving him to a ward in the hospital yesterday.
The spokesperson said the victim was in a “stable condition” yesterday afternoon.
The Victoria Police spokesperson said investigations were continuing yesterday.
Armed Crime Task unit officers were leading the investigations.
Police were unable to say yesterday afternoon whether the investigation had a suspect or whether the man’s injury was self-inflicted.
Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact Corio’s Crime Investigation Unit on 5273 9575.
