Most of the Geelong region enjoyed above-average rain in April.
Breakwater’s weather station recorded 47.2mm, while the urban area average was 50mm.
The latest 30-year average for April is 39.8mm, so the month was welcome after limited rain for the start to the year.
The month’s wettest day was also the last, when 14mm was recorded on Wednesday.
Geelong finished the month with mean temperatures about .75C higher than the 30-year average.
The average daily maximum was 20.2C and the average minimum was 11.6C.
Daytime temperatures were .2C below average and overnight minimums were 1.7C above.
The top temperature was 35.7C on the first day of the month – a record for April after topping the 34.9C set in 1922.
The highest overnight minimum was 20.8C on 2 April and the lowest was 3.2C on the 28th.
