The Mount Duneed Village is starting to take shape in Armstrong Creek, which is due to be completed mid-next year.

The $55 million Villawood Properties project will see 41 apartments, 52 townhouses and a shopping centre available for the Armstrong Mount Duneed community.

Empire Properties managing director and Mount Duneed Village builder Tony Masa said the development was going well and would complement a thriving precinct once completed.

“Things are moving well, we’re 90 per cent leased and we’re now building the shopping centre now,” he said.

“The townhouses are going well, and we plan to hand over the apartment building around mid-year.

“The townhouses will start settling in the second half of 2024, similar to when the retail centre will open.”

Villawood executive director Rory Costelloe said the new precinct would give residents more property choices and closer access to needed services and facilities.

“This is a forerunner of what we will see in the new Batesford and Lovely Banks growth corridors,” he said.

“Close to 18,000 blocks are planned for Geelong’s north and west in coming years as the region gears up to grow to a population of half a million.”
