Winchelsea won a thrilling Geelong District Netball League A Grade qualifying final against Thomson on the weekend and earned the right to play East Geelong in the second semi-final.
Winch won by one goal in a cliffhanger after opening up a six-goal at quarter time.
But Thomson then clawed itself back into the contest, trailing by three at the half and then by one at the last change.

Midcourt dynamo Meg Royal was best on court in a superb display while Melody Philpott was solid at goalshooter with 32 and Connie Royal was busy as always.
For Thomson, defender Skye Wellington was best while Bek Lebish provided a steadying influence at goal attack and Courtney Leith was brilliant in midcourt. Emma Whitham shot 32 goals.
Winchelsea goes through to the grand final qualifier against East Geelong this Saturday while Thomson meets Werribee Centrals in an eliminator on Sunday.
Bannockburn’s season is over after suffering a 28 to 41 loss to Werribee Centrals.
The Centurions were well on top at every stage with goal attack Ellie Vincent in scintillating form and defender Amanda O’Malley was her usual reliable self.
Bannockburn tried hard, but couldn’t make any inroads as Werribee consolidated its lead at every break.
Grace Bath never gave in while Kaylah Nicol was damaging in midcourt and coach Alana Nicol did her part.
Werribee Centrals will play Thomson this week, while Bannockburn will enter offseason mode.
