Conroy the standout at Thirteenth

Round 2 of the Victorian Longboard Titles was completed over the weekend at Thirteenth Beach, Barwon Heads, with highly contestable waves on offer for both days of competition.

Waves were in the 2-3foot range for the entirety of the competition, with offshore winds becoming cross-shore on Sunday for finals day. A left and right peak was on offer for the finals, which saw everyone rip in and post excellent scores.

Standout performer throughout both days of competition was Bea Conroy, who in her Open Women Logger final posted a combined heat total of 18.77 (out of a possible ten), posting one of the highest scores from both days of competition ( 9.77 out of a possible ten) – leaving the other competitors in a combination situation.

“The waves were fun out there today,” Conroy said

Will Cousins took out the Open Mens Longboards divisions, making the most of the near perfect conditions on offer.

Cousins posted a combined heat total of 14.53 (out of a possible ten).

Cousins displayed some impressive manoeuvres, and left the others in his heat chasing excellent scores.

“It was a great day down at Thirteenth, it was good to get waves,” Cousins said.

Not only were winners announced across 15 divisions today, but state champs were also decided.
