Truck driver charged over fatal Bellbrae crash

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a man following a fatal collision in Bellbrae on Wednesday.

Investigators have been told a truck and two cars collided at the intersection of Moores and Anglesea roads about 5.30pm on May 11.

A passenger in one of the cars, a 65-year-old Bellbrae woman, died at the scene.

The driver of that car, a 63-year-old Bellbrae woman, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the other car involved, a 49-year-old Bellbrae man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 45-year-old Thornhill Park man, sustained minor injuries and stopped at the scene.

The truck driver has since been charged with dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He was remanded to appear before Geelong Magistrates Court today.
