Information sought over Torquay assault

Victoria Police has launched a investigation into an incident at Torquay where people were injured during a fight.

A Ballarat man in his 20s was injured in an alleged assault at Torquay’s main beach around 4.30pm yesterday.

A police spokesperson said Torquay Police were investigating the incident.

“A large group of males became involved in an altercation with two other males which escalated quickly into a physical assault,” they said.

“One of the men sustained injuries.

“Police are asking anyone who knows the identity of any of the persons involved or who may have captured the incident on their mobile phone to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote ‘Torquay Affray – Eyewatch’.”
