Housing boom continues

Real estate group RPM has predicted “a flurry of deals” across the Geelong housing market from now until June 30.

Gross sales escalated by 15 per cent over the March quarter to 983 lots in greater Geelong, according to RPM.

Sales reduced by eight per cent on the Bellarine Peninsula with a 1.6 per cent decline in median lot prices, while prices increased by three per cent for Armstrong Creek and Lara.

Hotel quest begins

Quest Apartment Hotels and developer Pellicano have broken ground on a new $70-million mixed-use development including an 87-apartment hotel.

The Gheringhap Street project aims to capitalise on the growing extended stay corporate travel market within Geelong, according to Quest.

Coastal 5G expansion

Recent upgrades have expanded Telstra’s 5G coverage across the Surf Coast and Bellarine Peninsula, the telecom company announced on Wednesday.

The company now has nine 5G sites “on air” across Torquay, Connewarre, Barwon Heads, Ocean Grove and Wallington.
