A magistrate yesterday adjourned a hearing involving an 18yearold Grovedale woman who allegedly lied to police that two men raped her during a night out in Geelong.
The teenager was due to face Geelong Magistrates’ Court after allegedly claiming two men pushed her into Belcher Arcade in Moorabool Street before sexually assaulting her last month.
The claims shocked Geelong residents who were still reeling after a brutal rape in Little Malop Street left a 21yearold victim seriously injured late last year.
But police later charged the Grovedale woman when Sexual Crimes Unit detectives found aspects of her story failed to stack up.
