Police man hunt over sexual assault

Detectives hunting a man who sexually assaulted a woman at East Geelong have released a digital image in hope the public can help track him down.

The woman was alone at a Ryrie Street property when the man entered the building about 9pm on October 3 and sexually assaulted her before leaving, she told investigators.

She described the man as 183cm tall with brown hair and said he was wearing a dark coloured hooded top and shorts.

“Detectives are treating the matter as an isolated incident,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Geelong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives on Tuesday released a digitally-generated image of a man they believe “could assist with their enquiries”.

They urged anyone who recognised the man, or had any information that could assist police with their investigation, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
