Mum to spoil kids with $25k

A Geelong retiree plans to share her $24,999 lotto win with her children as she and her husband “already have everything we need”.

A lotto official called the excited woman on Tuesday morning to confirm the win.

“My husband will be very happy about this, years of playing and dreaming has paid off!” she said.

“My husband has always played Super 66, ever since it started, and since I’ve been in charge of buying the lottery tickets, I thought I’d better keep playing Super 66, and I am glad I did.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her division one prize, she mentioned her kids.

“We don’t need much ourselves, we already have everything we need,” she said.

“We have a big family, so we will certainly just be sharing with the children. It will be a lovely gift for them.”

The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Bellpost Lotto & News, Norlane.

The outlet has sold 12 division one-winning entries over the past 30 years, according to manager Shandelle Griggs.

“We were absolutely over the moon when we discovered we’d sold another division one-winning entry,” she said.

“We will be celebrating this special milestone with our customers. Congratulations to our winner. We wish her all the very best.”

The odds of winning Super 66 are one in a million, according to Tattslotto.
