Hunt for mystery lotto winner

Someone who purchased a lotto ticket in Geelong could be $613,000 richer without knowing it after scoring division one over the weekend.

The mystery ticket-holder was one of seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto’s Saturday night draw, each set to take home $613,016.67

The winner purchased their ticket at NewsXpress Armstrong Creek in The Village Warralily Shopping Centre.

But the ticket was unregistered, so lotto officials have no way contacting the winner and have to wait for them to claim their prize instead.

NewsXpress Armstrong Creek owner Wayne Davis hoped the winner would come forward soon.

“We only opened the new store seven months ago, so we’re so happy to have sold a division one winning entry already!” he exclaimed.

“We’ve put balloons and signs up around the store to let everyone know we’ve sold a division one prize.

“Our customers have been every excited for us and everyone is checking their tickets hoping they are our winner.”

The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said the mystery Geelong winner could be utterly unaware their winning entry was in their pocket, purse or stuck on the fridge.

“If you purchased a TattsLotto ticket in draw 4039 from NewsXpress Armstrong Creek, there are over 613,000 reasons why you should check your ticket today,” she said.

“Make sure you check your wallet, handbag, fridge door and car glovebox. Previous winners have found valuable tickets in all sorts of strange places.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4039 were 33, 36, 11, 39, 19 and 22, while the supplementary numbers were 7 and 18.

The odds of winning division one in the draw were one in 8,145,060.
