Coronavirus cases
Three coronavirus cases (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Geelong, the Department of Health and Human Services announced today.
The three were among 29 new cases in Victoria bringing the total number to 150, according to the department.
Restrictions lifted
Geelong council will not enforce restrictions on truck delivery times to supermarkets while essential items are in short supply, it has announced.
The measure would help vulnerable community members obtain urgently-needed supplies during the coronavirus pandemic, as supermarkets seek to replenish their shelves, according to council.
Anzac Day downscaled
Portarlington and St Leonards RSL sub branch has banned public attendance at its morning Anzac Day services and cancelled its March amid coronavirus fears.
Geelong RSL president Andrew Hanns on Wednesday called off the Geelong march, while other local RSLs are expected to either cancel or downscale services in line with government recommendations.
Talk cancelled
Geelong Cemeteries Trust has decided to postpone its Living and Dying: Let’s Talk due to the concerns with the COVID-19.
