Police yesterday charged a Herne Hill woman with murdering her four children, all under the age of three.

Homicide Squad Detectives arrested Carol Louise Matthey, 25, of Harvey Ave, early yesterday.

*Carol Louise Matthey was later cleared of the charges in 2017 after a Supreme Court judge ruled evidence against her was inadequate.

Ms Matthey had always maintained her innocence over the deaths.

Residents of three Geelong outer-suburbs will finish stage four restrictions as champion water savers, according to a new report.

But the Barwon Water report revealed that Herne Hill would finish with the distinction of being the only suburb to increase its consumption in the last quarter of 2009.
