Torquay couple claims big Tatts win

A TORQUAY couple is $444,444 richer thanks to a Tattslotto ticket from their local agency.
The husband and wife, who did not want to be identified, are regular customers of Torquay Tattslotto and Gifts in Gilbert Street, where they purchased the division one-winning ticket earlier this month.
Agency co-owner Julian Sweeney said the couple had been unaware of their win for around a week until they read about the unclaimed prize in the Independent.
“They were really excited to say the least,” Mr Sweney said.
“They said they planned to pay off their debts and maybe retire earlier, which would be nice.
“When they picked up their prize they also bought tickets for the following week’s lotto.
“They claimed the prize the day the Independent ran the story about the unclaimed winning ticket.”
The winners shared first division with a Corio resident who had earlier claimed his equal $444,444 share of the winnings.
