Pedestrian killed at Barwon Heads

A 21-year-old Barwon Heads woman has died following a collision this morning.

A car hit the female pedestrian outside a service station on Geelong Rd in Barwon Heads about 3.30am on Thursday, according to police.

The male driver was not injured and stopped to assist, police said.

The woman died at the scene and police will prepare a report for the coroner.

Motorists were urged to take an alternative route and avoid the area, with Geelong Rd is expected to be closed for several hours, according to police.
