Burglar steals laptop from Bell Park vet

An alleged burglar has smashed a hole in a reinforced glass door to steal from a veterinary clinic in Geelong’s northern suburbs.

Police posted on social media a security camera image of a man they wanted to question over the burglary this week.

The offender stuck soon after 3am Saturday, police alleged.

He used an “unknown tool” to smash the small hole in the glass door on the clinic in Anakie Rd, Bell Park.

The man was then able to reach an internal handle to open the door, police alleged.

Investigators believed that a deadlock at the top of the door was “not secured” when the burglar struck.

Police accused him of stealing a Toshiba laptop from the premises.

The security camera images showed a man wearing a dark-coloured, zip-fronted jacket with a hood. He also wore gloves and a peaked cap under the hood.

The man was carrying a Fila-brand bum-bag as well as a larger bag.

Police asked anyone with information to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, quoting reference number 180 223 434.
