Teen’s hair-razing challenge

St Albans Park teen Bianca Grima will join thousands of Australians shaving their hair for leukaemia research next Thursday – a year since her grandfather died.
“On 22 March 2017, my grandfather, best friend and my number one fan, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep,” the 15-year-old said.
“My grandfather might not have passed from leukaemia, but he passed and now I understand how it feels to lose the one you love – to have your world ripped into pieces.
“I will be shaving my head, for those struck by the deadly illness of blood cancer and in support their families too.”
The Newcomb Secondary College student has raised $1500 so far and will shave her hair in front of her entire school.
“I’m striving for raise much more than that,” she said.
“I would love to show the world, that no matter what you are going through, there is someone out there, who knows how it feels and is ready to offer their support.
“I would love to spread awareness and at the same time, raise money for something this important.“
