Geelong police began a campaign to name-and-shame wanted offenders today, releasing the images of 10 local court-dodgers.
Geelong Acting Superintendent Geoff Colsell warned locals not to approach the offenders (pictured) but to report them to Crime Stoppers instead.
“If your image is released, we urge you to present yourself to your local police station,” he added.
“We know who you are, it’s just a matter of time before the community tells us where you are.”
Crime Stoppers will release the images of 10 more offenders next week as part of a three-month campaign.
Supt Geoff Colsell was confident that many of the offenders still resided in the local area.
“Each person we are looking for is known to either frequent the Geelong and Surf Coast regions or have links to the area, so we believe someone in the community will know where they are,” he said.
“Together these people have committed a number of crimes in our community and they must be held accountable for their actions, but we need the community to help us find them.”
Mayol Mayol, 20, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 10 January 2018 for the theft of a motor vehicle.
He is known to frequent Geelong.
Steven Jeffers, 40, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 22 April 2016 for unlawful assault.
He is known to frequent Torquay and North Geelong.
Geoffrey Chapman, 44, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 3 October 2017 for multiple charges, including burglary and contravening a community corrections order.
He is known to frequent Highton, Bell Post Hill, Norlane, Sale and Carlton.
Michael Strinovic, 43, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 3 November 2016 for numerous offences including making a threat to kill and driving offences.
He is known to frequent Norlane, Corio and the surrounding areas.
Naomi Thorpe, 38, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 25 May 2017 for multiple burglary and theft offences.
She is known to frequent Norlane, Corio and Docklands.
James Ferrari, 21, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court in November 2017 for numerous offences including burglary and recklessly causing injury
He is known to frequent Norlane, Corio and Colac.

Geelong Magistrates’ Court issued a warrant on 17 October 2017 for the 32-year-old’s arrest.
He is known to frequent Norlane, Boronia and Patho.
Rodney Gray, 35, failed to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 4 May 2017 for numerous offences including theft of a motor vehicle, obtaining property by deception and burglary.
He is known to associate in Norlane, Corio, Geelong West and Sunshine.
Matthew Moroney, 29, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 23 May 2017 for numerous charges including refusing a preliminary breath test and threatening to inflict serious injury.
He is known to frequent Norlane, Corio and the surrounding areas.
Reece Willis, 27, failed to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 4 May 2016 for numerous charges including, theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle and contravening a community corrections order.
Willis is known to frequent Norlane, Corio, Geelong West and the surrounding areas.
