Response ‘overwhelms’ riding charity

By John Van Klaveren
THE PUBLIC response to an Independent story about thieves raiding a tiny local charity has been “overwhelming”, its executive officer says.
Rainbow Riders’ Rikki Raadsveld said the charity was full of praise for its many donors.
“Offers of help came from both the business community and individuals and we’re still following up with a number of generous donors.
“We received three new computer monitors, which have all been put to good use in the children’s classroom. We now have a brand-new emergency fire pump to replace the one stolen as well as cash donations totaling over $1100.
“Harvey Norman Corio, Total Eden Water Solutions, The Boardroom Surfboard Company and a host of very generous individuals came forward without hesitation.”
Ms Raadsveld said the generous contributions enabled Rainbow Riders to get back to its work of helping disadvantaged and disabled children.
“As one of Geelong’s smallest children’s charities we’re very grateful to receive such amazing support from the Geelong community – thank you.”
