Signs of the times

Ask Hanlon Industries general manager Teresa Hanlon what makes Geelong such a great place, and it’s obvious right from the start.
“People in Geelong are enduring and passionate,” Teresa says.
“Geelong has taken a few knocks over the years, but collectively remain positive, and we believe its future is bright”.
Hanlon Industries has been part of the Geelong landscape for 18 years and recently relocated to large new premises in Corio.
“We’re a family owned and operated business,” Teresa says.
“My husband Paul and myself are both born and bred in Geelong and our three children (Hugh, Tom and Elly, who also work for the business) have been raised here. Geelong is a fantastic location for our business, enabling us to service our local and interstate clients.”
As Australia’s largest outdoor sign builder, Hanlon Industries won the tender for Geelong’s floating Christmas tree, and built the digital K rock sign that adorns the intersection of Malop and Moorabool streets.
“We work all over the country, so it’s super exciting when we win local tenders and get to work in Geelong,” says Teresa.
Today, Hanlon Industries employees around 100 staff, of which 60 per cent voluntarily donate to Give to Where You Live, which the company matches dollar for dollar.
Hanlon Industries also supports the Barwon Health Foundation as major sponsor of Light Up the Green, raising funds for Project Love.
“We are privileged to be able to support the local community,” Teresa says.
