State nod for local surfers

Several local surfers will represent their state in the 2017 Australian Surf Festival, after earning selection in the Victorian team.
The team includes former Australian champions Ben Considine (Barwon Heads), Greg Brown (Jan Juc), Grayme Galbraith (Jan Juc) and John Lane (Torquay).
The event will feature local surfers in the longboard, logger, shortboard and bodyboard divisions, across age groups from junior through to over 65.
Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson announced the team Tuesday for the competition, which takes place at Tweed Coast in north NSW from 28 July to 14 August.
“On behalf of Surfing Victoria, I would like to wish all competitors good luck going into the event,” he said.
“Every year we are impressed with the results and the way team members represent our state, and I look forward to seeing some great surfing across all age groups.”
2017 will feature one of the biggest Victorian Teams in recent history, with 42 individual competitors representing the state.
