Armed robbery charges

Police have charged a 19-year-old Corio man with three counts of armed robbery after he allegedly robbed two men at gunpoint at Eastern Beach Saturday night.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives charged the man with two counts of armed robbery after he allegedly stole the men’s phones and wallets.
The other charge related to an armed robbery on a footpath near the intersection of High Street and Barwon Heads Road, Belmont, about 11.30am Sunday.
Police alleged the man produced a knife and stole a 31-year-old woman’s handbag and other property.
Geelong Crime Investigation Unit’s Senior Constable Jason Tom said the man would appear in court Monday.
