A $24 million Wallington redevelopment to deliver new jobs at Victoria’s largest aged care facility will begin in August, its proponent has announced.
The project, at Homestead Estate, was now scheduled for completion in 2018 after TLC Healthcare awarded contracts to builder Ireland Brown Constructions and principal consultant Baldasso Cortese, the operator said.
The project would add 125 beds to existing homes for 260 on the site, TLC Healthcare chief Lou Pascuzzi said.
“Homestead Estate was the first residential aged care home in the TLC group, so we are delighted to finally be able to commence work on its redevelopment,” Mr Pascuzzi said.
“This redevelopment project will not only provide a boost for construction employment in the Geelong area, it will also employ around 150 aged care staff on an ongoing basis.”
