Boozers drink up in bottlo

By Luke Voogt

Four brazen boozers drank alcohol and urinated on cartons of beer in a cool room at Lara Liquorland, police have alleged.
The men then allegedly trashed parts of the store before leaving, police said.
Investigators posted security-camera images of the men’s cool-room antics on social media yesterday (Thursday).
Three images showed three of the men were drinking cans of beer and the fourth urinating in a corner.
Their alleged behaviour was disgusting and unacceptable, Corio police Senior Constable Sam Granger said.
“This was very upsetting for the staff member and the manager,” she said.
Police alleged the men entered the bottleshop between 7.35pm and 8pm on 5 January.
“The staff member was dealing with some other customers in the store,” Sen Const Granger said.
Sen Const Granger said the men appeared to be intoxicated, so the attendant refused them service.
“She’s then gone into the cool room and observed what had happened.”
One of the men pushed a carton of beer off a stack, smashing its contents, while he was leaving the store after staff refused to serve him, Sen Const Granger said.
“There was $1000 worth of alcohol destroyed.”
The images drew numerous comments after they appeared on a police Facebook page on Thursday afternoon.
“I’ve had numerous calls, so I’ve got a few people who I need to speak with,” Sen Const Granger.
She urged witnesses to phone her at Corio Police Station on 5273 9555 or phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
