An alleged coward punch has left a man with his face bloodied on the waterfront on Saturday night.
Police said two men became involved in an altercation at a car park on Eastern Beach Road, about 7.15pm, when a man in his forties attempted to intervene.
Witnesses reported that one of the men coward-punched him, causing him to fall to the ground.
Another witness driving past shortly after saw the man lying on the ground with his face covered in blood.
Paramedics treated the man and took him to Geelong Hospital with facial injuries.
Police are yet to charge anyone and are continuing their investigation.
