Geelong Lego enthusiasts will have one final chance to see Ryan McNaught’s brick-built extravaganza this weekend.
The Lego maestro has been in Geelong with his exhibition the Brickman Experience for the last couple of weeks.
“This exhibition is very special to me,” he said.
“It’s the original collection of my individual works, brought together in one space, for everyone to enjoy.”
Ryan ‘Brickman’ McNaught is the only Lego Certified Professional in the Southern Hemisphere and one of 14 in the world.
“Lego brings people together,” he said, “everyone loves it – kids, parents, grandparents, everyone has a memory of playing with Lego.”
The interactive exhibition, made entirely from Lego, is the largest touring show of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
He made his remarkable collection from more than 5 million bricks.
It includes a Star Wars exhibit, an Airbus A380, a Ferrari and the world’s largest Lego flower.
“We’ve had huge success with the exhibition across Australia and New Zealand so it was only a matter of time before we brought the exhibition to Geelong,” McNaught said.
“I’ve also got a few exciting things for the kids – and big kids – to participate in, so everyone can enjoy creating brick masterpieces, as well as enjoying the exhibition.”
McNaught “used to be a slave to the corporate world” but in 2010 he took his love for Lego to a new level, trading the boardroom for a workshop.
Traditionally his internationally-awarded works appear in the toy section of department stores but the Brickman Experience brings them all together in the one place.
The Brickman Experience concludes this Sunday at the Geelong Arena.
