Irish singer-songwriter Roesy will bring his “crystalline” voice to Queenscliff Saturday in the first show of his 2017 Victorian tour.
The show will feature songs from the veteran folk artist’s seventh album ‘Wolf Counsel’, which he released in 2015.
Audiences will also get a taste of Roesy’s newest music, as he performs a number of yet-to-be-recorded songs.
Roesy has won acclaim both locally and in Ireland.
The Irish Times said he “is armed with a crystalline pair of vocal chords” while Faster Louder described him as an “impressive musical talent.”
Roesy began his musical career 1996 at Edwin Collin’s London studio, when he signed to record label Warner Chappell.
There he recorded his first bunch of songs, which became his debut album ‘Sketch the Day, Paint the Night’ in 2001.
During the past 20 years, Roesy has played with international figures like Bert Jansch, Ron Sexsmith, Paul Brady, Billy Bragg, John Martyn, Joan Armatrading, Donovan, Shane MacGowan and celebrated Irish author Paul Durcan.
He is also a talented visual artist, according to promoters, exhibiting work at The Artery Gallery in Warrnambool.
Roesy will play at Queenscliff’s Salt Contemporary Art Gallery at 8pm Saturday.
He will embark on Irish and New Zealand tours with his newest material later this year.
