Rider may have witnessed fatal crash

Police released an image of a motorcyclist Monday who may have been a witness to last Thursday’s fatal crash on the Great Ocean Road.
A motorcyclist was travelling west when he collided with a truck on a bend, about 1pm at Moggs Creek, police said.
The rider, a 43-year-old Doreen man, died at the scene.
The male truck driver was uninjured and assisted police with their inquiries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives believe another motorcyclist was on the road at the time and would have seen the crash.
They said the rider was travelling towards Lorne and may have stopped at the crash, but did not leave his details with police.
The death brought the combined road toll in Greater Geelong and the Surf Coast Shire to 10, double the number at this time last year.
The Victorian road toll stands at 237, up on 211 at this time last year.
Police urged anyone who could identify this potential witness or who may have further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
