Geelong Highway Patrol scored an unwanted trifecta on the Princes Highway at Mount Moriac on Sunday evening.
Officers were performing traffic duties when they detected a Volkswagen Golf travelling at 210km/h in a 100km/h zone.
As they prepared to intercept the car, a BMW sedan passed them at 140km/h, followed by a Nissan Skyline at 143km/h.
The officers caught up to the Volkswagen, which had slowed, and directed all three drivers to the side of the road.
Police impounded the Golf and the 20-year-old male driver will incur towing and storage coasts of $1110.
They will interview the Doncaster man at a later date for conduct endangering life.
The driver of the BMW, a 20-year-old man from Balwyn, and the driver of the Nissan, a 20-year-old from Burwood, received $661 speeding tickets and had their licences disqualified for six months.
