An unknown man who harassed a woman now has her name and address after stealing her licence, according to Geelong police.
Investigators released an image of a man they wanted to question over the incident, which began in a similar fashion to recent car-jackings which have been linked with Melbourne’s notorious Apex Gang.
The woman was driving along High Street, Belmont, on Sunday when the wanted man asked for her phone number while driving alongside, police posted on Facebook.
The victim ignored him but he followed her to the corner of Geelong Bypass’s Anakie Road exit where he “nudged” her vehicle.
“At this scene the male snatched the victim’s driver’s licence from her then drove off,” police posted.
The man was driving a gold Holden Captiva with false number plates.
Police asked anyone who might know his identity to phone Senior Constable Joseph Anderson at the Geelong station on 5225 3100 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
