Police arrested two youths last Friday following a number of alleged burglaries, car thefts and an assault.
Geelong police’s high volume crime unit executed a search warrant on a Corio house that morning, arresting two 17-year-old males and seizing property.
Police charged the first male with theft of a motor vehicle and aggravated burglary relating to a car which was reported stolen in Highton.
They also charged the youth over an alleged residential burglary in Lara and the alleged assault of a woman and theft of her groceries in Corio.
Police charged the second male with robbery, aggravated burglary, arson and multiple thefts of motor vehicles.
They allege the youth stole a car from a Queenscliff home before officers stopped him on the Portarlington Highway.
The youth then flagged down another car, stole it and later torched it, police alleged.
Both males appeared before Geelong Magistrates’ Court and were remanded in custody.
